How will you be spending your weekends this spring?

Whatever your age, background or interest, there's something for everyone to enjoy as we head into the longer days.
On 16 March, Superhero Saturday flies into Darlington, with a number of superhero themed activities, including arts and crafts, which will be available at locations across the town. Supported by your favourite caped crusaders, this popular event is one to delight children and families, offering magical moments and plenty of photo opportunities. Another fantastic event for families is the well-loved Tractor and Digger Day, scheduled for Tuesday 28 May. Taking place during half term, the event promises a host of agricultural machinery and equipment, including vintage and classic tractors, for children to explore and delight in. Our Emergency Services Day on Saturday 1 June also gives kids the chance to get up close to emergency vehicles, watch demonstrations and meet the local heroes looking after Darlington.
If you love to boogie, don your dancing shoes and head down to the marketplace on 11 May where local community groups and dance schools will be taking part in a mass dance at the popular Darlington Dance Festival. There will also be plenty of opportunities for dancing in the street at the town's Soul, Funk and Disco Weekender, taking place from Friday 17 - Sunday 19 May. New to the agenda this year, the event promises live music and entertainment across various venues and will have you partying all night long.
Throughout June, events including those to mark the D-Day anniversary and Armed Forces Day are planned, as is the hugely popular Darlington Community Carnival which offers non-stop entertainment throughout the day in Stanhope Park. A sustainability event in the marketplace will also explore eco-friendly lifestyles and the impact people can have on the future of the world we live, work and play in.

Our events team do a sterling job at pulling together a fantastic array of events which encourage people to visit the town centre; supporting independent businesses and the wider local economy.
