Healthwatch Darlington’s COVID-19 Vaccine Project
Healthwatch Darlington want to be able to help local services and national policymakers understand how they can improve the vaccination programme based on the experiences of our local population.
Our Covid-19 Vaccine research project includes a survey that will be LIVE from Monday 12th April 2021 to 30th June 2021.
Individuals will be able to tell us what they think about the vaccine programme and how well they understand the information being shared in our community.
The survey will be shared widely across all our online communications channels and for those individuals who are not online, we will have paper surveys at designated community venues, or we can arrange telephone appointments with one of our trained volunteers.
Finally, we will be working with local services, voluntary sector organisations and community groups inviting key groups of service users to take part in online focus groups with our friendly team.
How can you get involved with our Covid-19 Vaccine Project?
- Signpost anyone to us who would prefer to take part in our survey over the phone. We have a team of trained volunteers ready to assist.
- Get in touch if you know a group of service users or individuals who would like to take part in an online focus group with some of our team.
- Share in your newsletter, on your website, or any other communications to help us reach anyone who would be interested taking part.
- Share on social media – you can share our survey link or our new project platform called CitizenLab using the attached social media pack with this briefing.
- Share with your networks, via email, so that our survey and engagement platform reaches those who may be interested

CitizenLab
In addition to our traditional methods of engagement above we are working with Healthwatch England to pilot a new online platform here in Darlington called CitizenLab which will complement our COVID-19 Vaccine project.
CitizenLab is a community engagement platform used by local governments & organisations to connect with residents by participating in polls, idea forums and online workshops providing you with more opportunities to have your say. We are going to use our Covid19 Vaccine Project as our first project on the platform.
