Eyes Wide Open – Fire Awareness training for professionals
Darlington Borough Council are rolling out valuable learning for those with contact with vulnerable adults and families around fire awareness.

County Durham & Darlington Fire & Rescue Service are looking to increase referrals from partner agencies for members of our communities who are at increased risk of fire.
As a professional working with vulnerable individuals, identifying fire hazards can often be overlooked—but it’s critical. "Eyes Wide Open" helps you:
- Recognise the warning signs of fire risks in the homes of vulnerable individuals
- Understand how the Fire Service can assist in making homes safer and reducing fire-related risks
- Act confidently knowing the steps you can take to help prevent fire-related incidents
Eyes Wide Open is a 15-minute training session delivered via a bespoke animation. The training provides valuable insights into the warning signs that someone may be at risk from fire and highlights practical steps that can be taken to reduce these risks.
The training can be easily shared with all members of your team or organisation. Whether your part of a large team or working alone, this resource is designed for maximum flexibility and ease of access.
