VONNE - Conference and AGM 2024 and Request for Board Nominations
The following is directly from VONNE
Join us on 28th November 2024 at ReCoCo, Newcastle for VONNE’s Conference and AGM, where we will reflect on the events of 2024 and look forward to opportunities for collaborative work in 2025.
This year’s theme will centre on Devolution and Community Cohesion, with a particular focus on the aftermath of the summer riots and the impact on the North East region.
We’ll also explore what effective collaboration looks like, and how VONNE can better support, promote, and advocate for the sector in the coming year.
This event is a must-attend for anyone involved in the charity and voluntary sector, offering a platform to contribute ideas, engage with regional developments, and strengthen the role of our sector in supporting people and communities.
Attending and voting at our AGM is a key element of having VONNE membership. Our members give VONNE a collective voice with which we represent the North East VCSE sector, but you also help make our work accountable and representative. As valued members of VONNE, during the AGM you will be part of the following essential activities:
- agree the minutes from last year and review the accounts (both will be available on the VONNE website from early November);
- approve the appointment of auditors Read Milburn;
- re-appoint and elect trustees;
Board Nominations – We need your votes!
We currently have six vacancies for a trustee elected by the membership so we welcome nominations from membership organisations.
The VONNE Board is made up of a maximum of 9 membership elected and up to 6 independent trustees appointed by serving trustees for their particular expertise, qualification and/or knowledge. All member organisations are entitled to nominate an individual from their organisation for election to the Board of Trustees.
A nomination form is enclosed. All nominations must be received in the VONNE office by Monday 11th November 2024 by email to vonne@vonne.org.uk or via post to VONNE, 4th Floor, Hadrian House, Higham Place, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 8AF.
If you have any queries regarding the trustee positions, please contact angela.goodfellow@vonne.org.uk.
Proxy votes
If your organisations’ representative is unable to attend the AGM you may wish to appoint a proxy to attend and vote on their behalf at the meeting. A proxy voting form will follow in early November along with details of the new board nominations.
