Tell NICE what you think: NICE's three-year strategy for involvement and engagement
The following is directly from NICE
This strategy describes how we will improve the way we capture the collective wisdom and experiences of the people and communities we serve by 2027. Improving how we involve and engage people and communities within our work will ensure our guidance is relevant and impactful, which should improve guidance uptake and ultimately provide the best care to people and what matters most to them.
We want to keep this approach as simple as possible:
- We have one single vision, “To have a best-practice approach to involvement and engagement, to improve the impact of our guidance and ensure the best care for people and communities”.
- We will realise this vision by delivering against five key areas of focus, each of which has a number of measurable aims to help us realise our vision over the next three years.
- We will adopt twelve guiding principles that will underpin everything we do and helping to foster and cultivate a positive culture of involvement and engagement across our work.
Get involved
- We are asking you to tell us what you think of the draft strategy. You can give us your views until 5pm on Wednesday 27 March.
- If you have networks or a membership of people with lived experience, we would be grateful if you would share details of this consultation with them, and encourage them to give us their views too.
If you would like to do this through social media content, we will have posts on our Facebook, X and LinkedIn channels, for you to share.
- You can access the draft strategy and consultation documents on our consultation page.
- We are recording the webinar that is happening to launch this consultation and will make the recording available to you as soon as we can.
- We’re holding a focus group for people working in the voluntary and community sector from 2 – 4pm on Thursday 14 March 2024.
The aim is to have a focused discussion to understand your views on the ‘productive partnerships’ core area of focus.
If you want to attend, please email PeopleAndCommunityStrategy@nice.org.uk by 4 March to let us know.
- We have drop-in sessions to answer any questions you may have to help you share your thoughts. The dates of these are:
- Wednesday 6 March, 3 - 4pm
- Thursday 21 March, 2 - 3pm
To join one of these Zoom meetings, just click on the link of the session and you will be able to join us at that specific time.
Next steps
- The feedback you give us during this consultation will inform a final draft, as well as our initial plans for delivery of the strategy in 2024/2025.
- The final draft will be presented to the NICE Board in May, and we will publish the final strategy in Summer 2024.
- We will then start to translate our strategy into specific annual deliverables and activities, in partnership with the people, communities and partners we work alongside.
