What does the word 'Scam' mean to you?
NEROCU - The North East Regional Organised Crime Unit - have created a booklet to inform people of what a scam actually is and how you can protect yourself.
The North East Regional Organised Crime Unit say:
Victims of Fraud do not “fall” for the scam, they are victims of a crime which has been perpetrated by a manipulative criminal often involved in serious and organised crime.
