Council’s events team gets ready as summer of fun takes centre stage
The Summer Stage is in the Market Square during the school holidays, along with a pop-up park area complete with grass flooring and deckchairs, to provide entertainment for the exciting line-up of events planned. YouFibre is sponsoring the Summer Stage which has been installed.
Events featuring the Summer Stage include Tracks Tuesdays with live music every Tuesday in August, the Darlington 10k (August 6), the Pride Weekender (Saturday 12- Monday 14 August) and Film Fridays throughout August.
Film Fridays, sponsored by Darlington College, are taking place throughout the summer with family-friendly free screenings of popular movies including Frozen, Mama Mia and Coco. On Friday 4 August at 7.45pm there will be extra film when Bollywood action drama Bajrangi Bhaijaan (rating 12) is shown on the big screen.
