An Introduction to Equality and Diversity for Voluntary Organisations
Thursday 9th February 10.00 - 11.30am
This online session is aimed at volunteer-led organisations and community groups; and will cover understanding the meaning and purpose of equality, diversity and inclusion, establishing the importance of having an EDI policy, and making practical steps to ensure your organisation’s commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion is put into practice.
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Workshop
Tuesday 28th February 9.30am - 12.30pm
This workshop will be hosted by Lizzie Whittington, Regional Outreach Adviser from the Partnerships Team, Strategy and Performance Directorate at Disclosure and Barring Service. It will cover the benefits of DBS and you working together, the different levels of DBS checks and when an employee/volunteer is eligible for a check, what Regulated Activity is, the DBS Update Service, and more.
Cyber Security Training for Small Charities
Thursday 2nd March 10.00 - 11.30am
This training aims to provide you with an understanding of the basics of cyber security in a small charity, and what steps you should be taking to protect your organisation. After the session, you will be provided with the National Cyber Security Centre’s Cyber Security: Small Charity Guide to help you put your new knowledge into practice.
Health and Safety for Trustees within the Voluntary Sector
Thursday 16th March 10.00 - 11.30am
This online session is aimed at volunteer-led organisations and community groups. It will cover understanding trustees’ responsibilities for health and safety in their organisation, establishing what needs to be included in a policy, understanding basic Health and Safety law and identifying relevant health and safety needs for staff and managers.
