Mental Health North East - Young Peoples Newsletter and Women's Conference 100 Years Progress Report

Mental Health North East (MHNE) share two publications, the winter edition of their Reach Out North East Newsletter produced completely by young people and children and 100 years of progress Women's Conference Report.

The Reaching Out North East Newsletter is produced completely by young people and children for their peer group with only a little bit of help from a few of the older team members. This publication has articles about how this group are surviving the current situation plus some invaluable advice on what to do if you are a young person facing mental distress. The newsletter ranges from serious articles to fantasy ( Interviewed by my cat) to word searches, quizzes etc.

MHNE are proud to carry on their tradition of working with others to organise events and conferences about pertinent issues. MHNE worked with North Durham Women’s Forum, Just for Women, Aspire, WASPI, City of Sanctuary, Durham Soroptimists, WEA, Beamish Museum, Durham Police and Crime Commissioners Office etc to produce ‘100 Years of Progress?’ conference which looked at how much progress had taken place   - or indeed not taken place – in the 100 years that has followed women getting the vote. It was a huge success attracting over 200 participants aged from 4 years to 80 years. Participants stayed for the full day thanks to the brilliant speakers, workshops, stands, entertainment and catering.
