Hidden Sentence Awareness Sessions
This online virtual awareness course is for professionals whose work in the borough of Darlington brings them into contact with families of prisoners, including health, education, local authority, police, probation or community/voluntary workers.
Hidden sentence awareness training gives you an insight the specific issues experienced by children and families of prisoners and the resources available to you, to help you to support these families.
The sessions will take place on Zoom on the following dates
Tuesday 3rd November 2020 from 9.30am—12noon
Thursday 19th November 2020 from 2pm—4.30pm

Nepacs – are a north east charity which supports prisoners’ families across the north east. They deliver a range of services to support children and families impacted by imprisonment at prisons, court and in the community. To help raise awareness of the needs of prisoners’ families and how agencies can support them they deliver Hidden Sentence training and awareness sessions to professionals from health, local authorities, education, criminal justice and the voluntary sector. So far over 2,500 professionals across the north east have received the full Hidden Sentence training or awareness sessions including police, probation, local authority, education, health staff and community/voluntary workers.
