UK Youth
After the announcement face masks would be mandatory in more places across the UK such as supermarkets, indoor shopping centres etc, UK Youth wanted to highlight some ways in which you can communicate with the deaf community from behind a mask.
For many children and young people who have a hearing impairment this will be even more challenging for them and may lead to feelings of loneliness and isolation if communication can not be maintained in the normal way.
UK Youth encourages everyone to be patient, flexible and creative when communicating with children and young people who may have difficulty hearing.
You can find more information from National Deaf Children's Society on their website.
