Leo's Neonatal - New Nurture Service

Leo's Neonatal are delighted to be able to provide a new robust service which has been created directly from parent needs in response to COVID-19.

The Leo's Nurture Project is the first of its kind in the UK, and will allow us to care for babies, siblings, parents and carers, and grandparents.

Here's the newest additions to their service:

1. Additional trauma counselling support

2. EMDR to treat PTSD and extreme anxiety

3. Nurture & Attunement to support parent / carer and infant relationships

4. Advocacy

5. Sibling counselling / play therapy for siblings impacted by NHS Visiting restrictions on neonatal units & those affected by their younger sibling shielding

6. Child counselling / play therapy for older neonates impacted by shielding

7. NBO (Newborn Behavioural Observations) to boost new parent confidence out of the neonatal unit

8. Occupational therapy to aid child development

9. Wider peer support network

On top of this families will also get access to their dedicated neonatal yoga, sign language, baby massage, wellbeing packs and more!

If you are a family on a neonatal currently in either The James Cook University Hospital, Sunderland Royal Hospital, The University Hospital of North Durham, or Darlington Memorial Hospital,

or;

You are a family who have had a neonatal baby (up to the age of 6) and have shielded (either through official government / health care professional guidance or your own decision), and have been on any neonatal unit in the North East but live in an area with a Teesside, Durham, Darlington or Sunderland postcode please head to
