New health and well being hub - St Marks church, North Road, Darlington

Many people in the North of Darlington struggle with poverty, ill health and mental health issues. St Mark's church decided that the best response to assist the community was to set up St Mark's Health and Well Being Hub.

The following is from St Marks Church - North Road, Darlington.

This will create an accessible offering, located in the heart of the community, which will not only improve the health and well-being of local people and reduce social isolation but also encourage artistic expression and develop the church as a cultural venue for the local community.

A community choir is starting on 14th January 2025 which will be free and open to all.

We are offering a programme of exercise classes - Exercise for older people, art therapy to support people with mental health issues and fun family exercise classes for parents and children as well as  activities to reduce loneliness and isolation. These will start in January and run throughout the year.

We will also host Diabetes prevention Healthier You sessions beginning in October.

Our funding is available to benefit anyone in Darlington so programmes are open to all residents.

Information flyers are available to download below.
